Nunziature e legazioni, 1187-1851.

This is a vast collection of correspondence received by the Secretariat of State from the various nunciatures and legations. It is divided into subgroups for each of the geographical units. Each of the subgroups is described separately among the records of the Secretariatus Status. Look under "I" for the Inquisizione di Malta, "L" for legations (legazioni), and "N" for nunciatures (nunziature). This material should be used in conjunction with the Secretariatus Status series Archivio delle nunziature, which is described in general among the records of the Secretariatus Status but whose component parts form a separate section in this guide.
